HOW BAD WILL IT HURT?!

And other questions you're too embarrassed to ask

Why wax?
Waxing leaves the skin soft, smooth and bump-free AND it lasts much longer than most other hair removal methods. It is effective on all hair types. When hair starts to grow back after repeated waxing, it will be softer and sparser. (Oh…and did we mention the benefits to pregnant women?)

What is a Brazilian wax?
A Brazilian wax can remove all the hair from down there – front and back nether regions – leaving you silky smooth everywhere the sun don’t shine! You’ll look and feel so good – and a little naughty at the same time! Spontaneous blushing may ensue.

Can I get waxed if I’m pregnant?
Yes! In fact, you may need and want to wax even more when you’re pregnant. The further along you are, the more, um, challenging it can be to do a good job of grooming. Plus, there are some hygiene benefits to having things under control down there. For more info on this, check out our special section devoted to expecting moms.

Can I do a Brazilian wax at home?
Not unless you’re a contortionist! Pretzels, anyone? Our professionals can see all the places you can’t. And they have the experience to do the job quickly and effectively. You’ll go from “OK” to “Oh Yeah!” faster than you can say “Clark Kent in a telephone booth”! (well, maybe not quite that fast, but you get the idea, right?)

How bad does waxing hurt?
That depends on your tolerance for pain, but sure, it will hurt some. Trust our customers, though, it’s worth it! If you’re worried, you can reduce potential discomfort by applying a topical analgesic – like No Scream Cream (available at In the Pink) – 30-45 minutes before your session.

How long does waxing take?
We pride ourselves on getting you in and getting the hair off quick. A Brazilian wax at In The Pink takes about 15 minutes from when you hop on the table to when you leave as a happy, satisfied, smooth operator.

How do I prepare for my wax?
You’ll want to make sure the hair is sufficient length for the best results.

  • Facial hair – lip, chin, eyebrows, etc. – should be about 2 weeks of growth from last wax.
  • Underarms – 8 to 10 days from last shave.
  • Legs – should be about 3 weeks of growth from last wax.
  • Brazilian & bikini – minimum 2 weeks from last shave. The hair needs to be around half an inch. If you must trim to achieve the desired length, always use scissors not clippers - even a clipper guard can make the hair too short!

How often will I need a wax?
Waxing is recommended every 4 weeks for every body part except for face and underarms - those areas need attention every 2 weeks. To ensure that you have your appointment locked in, book it right away. High demand means appointments may be harder to find than an unwanted hair on an In The Pink client!

How do I prepare for my facial?
Remove makeup if possible, but don’t worry, we'll take care of that for you – just come prepared to be pampered.
